# Open Patrol

> Open Patrol shows which game studios fill casino front pages, market by market, every number traced to a recorded capture. It reads the front page of 310 casinos in 21 markets about once a day.

## Definitions
- [Placement](https://open.playpatrol.app/methodology#placement): A placement is one game tile on one casino’s front page, counted for the studio that made the game; live casino, table games, bingo, poker, crash games, jackpots, logos and banners are never counted.
- [Patrol Rank](https://open.playpatrol.app/methodology#patrol-rank): Patrol Rank is Open Patrol’s ranking of casino game studios by their share of game placements on casino front pages, counted over the newest scan of each market; with no market in its name it covers all markets, and “UK Patrol Rank” covers the UK alone.
- [Group Patrol Rank](https://open.playpatrol.app/methodology#group-patrol-rank): Group Patrol Rank is Open Patrol’s ranking of companies by the placements on casino front pages of the studios each group owns, added up, with every studio in no group ranked as itself.
- [Distributor Patrol Rank](https://open.playpatrol.app/methodology#distributor-patrol-rank): Distributor Patrol Rank is Open Patrol’s ranking of distributors by the placements on casino front pages of the studios each one carries, in the markets where it carries them, the most first.
- [Game Patrol Rank](https://open.playpatrol.app/methodology#game-patrol-rank): A game’s Patrol Rank is Open Patrol’s ranking of games by how many casinos show them on their front pages in the newest scan, the most first.
- [Edition](https://open.playpatrol.app/methodology#edition): An edition is one market on one day: the casinos scanned that day, published together, a snapshot and never an average of the month.
- [Reading](https://open.playpatrol.app/methodology#reading): A reading is one casino’s front page on one day as Open Patrol recorded it, with the dated capture it was counted from.
- [Capture](https://open.playpatrol.app/methodology#capture): A capture is the image of that front page, taken during the scan, dated and carrying our mark.

## What the free site shows, and what a plan adds
- Every report page shows who and how much: each Patrol Rank, shares of placements, how many casinos, markets, studios and games, which casinos show a studio, and each reading’s capture in studio colours.
- A plan adds which games, where, since when and what changed: the games at each casino, their places, the day each arrived, the changes since yesterday, and the names of the casinos that do not show a studio.
